Ali
Chalhoub was born in Beirut Lebanon the youngest son in a family
of six. His love for music began at a very young age. His talent
was apparent when at the tender age of five he was singing songs
like "Kariat El Finjan". But, at that time
no one considered the talent that Ali would possess in the years
to come.
By the age of 13 Ali showed
a great interest not only in singing but also in the tabla instrument.
He began to practice and eventually master the tabla on his own.
Along with singing Ali also plays the tabla professionally. He
would take his tabla and sing to his family and friends. Crowds
would gather around him to pass the time and listen to Ali sing.
Friends and family started to encourage & support him.
Ali’s career really
took off at the age of 18, where he began singing professionally
at
a famous night club located along the Mediteranean Sea
in Beirut called "The Sahara Palace". Everything
was going well when Ali decided to pursue his education abroad
and left Lebanon for Canada.
On November
25, 1992 Ali arrived in Toronto, Canada to begin his studies.
He dedicated most of his time studying hard. This hard work paid
off and Ali graduated from York University with a Computer Science
Degree. Ali immediately started working for a well known computer
company called Sybase. He is a Computer Engineer working very
hard which proves his passion for computers almost equals his
love for music.
During his studies Ali
did not neglect his music though. In fact his favorite pass time
was singing on the weekends. He sang in various well known Arabic
Clubs like "Haifa", "Sahara",
and "Miami".
Ali’s fame really
took off when the owner of "Alladins Palace"
invited him to sing at his club with a six month contract. This
is where Ali received the name “The King of Dabkih”.
Ali has a very talented
band, a group of individuals from across the Middle East including
Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
Next year Ali plans to
record a CD in Lebanon for all his fans to listen too. In the

you can hear him sing.
